Mennica Polska has been striking coinage in Warsaw since 1766, which makes it one of the oldest mints still operating anywhere. Half a gram is a gift sized piece rather than a way to hold metal, and the sealed card keeps the bar handled only through plastic. As with all fractional gold the premium is steep, and it is the price of making something this small at all.
